There is oddness afoot in the city proper. Some form of disease, I believe?
It is difficult to say.
The matter of the ever-present ticking becoming silenced is something else again.
....It is odd how one becomes used to such things, and their lack becomes cause for concern.

...Even the birds in the garden seem quieter....
In fact, the scent of the garden itself is somewhat distracting.

Perhaps it would be best to remain bedridden today? I find myself lacking the will to rise, and at least enjoy tea in the morning sunlight.

The Temple grounds are quite lovely. I must admit to spending more time than I intended touring the varying gardens, as well as walking the architecture.
( I am afraid I am slower than I anticipated using this cane.)
Perhaps this evening I might have another opportunity to find a space for myself within, as I did not wish to put off finding the shop.

Likewise, the Seiza Teashop is an interesting locale. I have my eye on a jasmine blend that I believe Nakajima-san might enjoy.
However, such leisure items must wait until another time.

It seems I am once again within the Nameless City, and much has changed in my absence.
As it would be unseemly to further prevail on Nakajima-san's hospitality, I must find new lodgings as soon as conveniently possible.

I am not certain if the rooms I once occupied here are available. And I can not remain quite so isolated at present
It would be far better to find a quiet place. Somewhere more suggestive of meditation, than hurried activity.

There are quite a few birds attempting to break the picture window in the sitting area.

I have attempted to inform these men they need not remain there, for they consistently have been trying to make holes in the walls of our apartment.
The noise is rather bothersome.
